Wedding Favors: Everything you need to know to accessorize your Big Day!

Wedding Favors: Everything you need to know to accessorize your Big Day!

Wedding accessories are part of what make your wedding day so special, and they are a big part of the overall impression your wedding will make on your guests. There are a lot of different accessories at weddings, and they range from big items such as the car you will use to get you from place to place and the bride’s dress to the wedding favors that you provide for guests at the ceremony and reception.

In this article, we will be discussing three different types of wedding favors which can serve as keepsakes for your guests.

Wedding Bubbles:

At some weddings you will still see the traditional throwing of rice, but the mess it creates, as well as the waste of food that it entails, have meant that this tradition is on the decline. Many weddings today will substitute confetti, or better yet wedding bubbles, for rice.

Bubbles are great wedding accessories for this purpose because they don’t make a big mess and they can also be used as wedding favors. Many couples choosing to have their guests blow bubbles rather than throw rice supply the bubble solution in bottles which make great keepsakes; miniature champagne bottles are one popular choice. Remember, though, that the cost of these can add up quickly; many couples planning with a budget have found that small plastic containers, decorated by hand with wedding colors and including a personal tag, serve the function as keepsake just as well.

Place Card Holders:

At the reception, place card holders are great as they serve both the practical and memento functions. Place card holders, like other types of favor, can be purchased in bulk. Unlike other wedding favors, though, these mementos are personalized in every sense of the word. They already include the names of the people who will be seated at the location, and if the couple has time leading up to the event they might wish to include personal messages tailored to the people whose place is being saved. That kind of touch adds a whole new dimension to the idea of wedding favors.

Candle Wedding Favors:

Another practical favor at the reception is the candle. Candles are a big part of wedding ceremonies in many cultures, and can be found not only at the reception but at the ceremony as well. Many couples choose to match their candles with the colors of the wedding.

When it comes to candle wedding favors, the couple will usually provide their guests with duplicates of the candles that appear on the reception tables. These candles are usually wrapped in packages of two (a number representing the couple) and place on the table settings. At many weddings guests are also encouraged to consider the candle holders at the tables as wedding favors as well.

Wedding favors are a great way to make sure that any guest who wants a keepsake from your special day will get one. In all the cases we discussed above, it is important to add a personal touch; this is easy enough, a simple ribbon with the names of the couple and the date will suffice, although of course you can add more if you wish!
